Founder and President
From 2017 to 2020 she has attended the PhD Course in Logistics and Transports of the Center of Excellence on Logistics, Transport and Infrastructures (CIELI) of the University of Genoa in collaboration with Circle Spa.
In 2019, she carried out a period of visiting abroad in Montréal (Canada) in the Center interuniversitaire de reserche sur les réseaux d'entreprise, la logistique, et le transport ( CIRRELT).
Bachelor degree in Economics of maritime, logistic and transport companies and master degree in Economics and Maritime and Port Management at the Department of Business and Economics of the University of Genoa.
With the thesis entitled "Optimization models to design a new cruise itinerary: Costa Crociere case study" (relator Prof. Ambrosino), she obtained the Italian Cruise Day graduation award (2018 edition) and the Italian Association of Operational Research award - 2018 edition.
Passionate about mathematics and its applications since high school, during the years of her doctorate she deepened and increased her knowledge and skills in the field of mathematical modeling and optimization, mainly applied to the transports field.
Founder and Scientific Director
Daniela Ambrosino received the PhD in Mathematics applied to Economic Decisions at the University of Pisa. Currently, she is associate professor of Operations Research at the Department of Economics and Business Studies of the University of Genoa.
She is member of the following bodies: Executive Board of the Italian Society of Operations Research (AIRO), Board of the Italian Centre of Excellence on Logistics, Transport and Infrastructures (CIELI) of the University of Genoa, Teacher College of the PhD program in Logistics and transport of the Centro del Mare of the University of Genoa.
Her main research activities include the application of optimization techniques to:
distribution network design (hub location, location-routing, multimodal networks design with externalities) and distribution plans (rich vehicles routing problems);
cruise itineraries’ offer (definition of new itineraries, cruise offer evaluation);
terminal containers management (yard storage management, stowage planning, train load planning, congestion and truck appointment systems, intermodal transport).
Optimization analyst and developer
Graduated in Maritime and Port Economics and Management from the Department of Economics, University of Genoa with a thesis in Maritime Port Operations Optimization titled "A comparison of Mathematical Modeling and Heuristic Approach for the port rail shunting optimization: A case study of an Italian port".
Graduated in Economics and Commerce from the Department of Economics, University of Genoa with a thesis in Decision methods for economic analysis titled "Application of Operations Research Models to Vaccinations".
Having always been interested in scientific subjects, she discovered Operations Research during her bachelor's degree and decided to make it the focus of her studies and work.
